In just a few short weeks, schools will close for the summer! This time of year should mean fun with friends and family. But while children would typically receive breakfast and lunch at school, summer break could mean the beginning of a long, difficult struggle to find food.
This summer, 18,000 Manatee County students and their younger siblings will face hunger.
We are uniting the community again this year to end summer hunger. During the Food Bank’s Weekend Backpack Program, we will ensures that children at-risk of hunger are fed all summer long. Won’t you join us?
