WHEN SCHOOL’S OUT, HUNGER’S NOT.

During The School Year, 1 In 4 Children
Faces Hunger In Manatee County.

For the low-income children in Manatee County like Elle, eating breakfast and lunch at school keeps them on the right side of this disheartening statistic. That food fuels their brains and supports their growth while learning. Unfortunately, those meals might be the only ones they eat over the course of the day. Will you help us Sack Summer Hunger to keep kids mentally and physically ready to begin school again in August?

Manatee families, you can pick up a free weekend summer food sack for your kids at any of the Manatee County Public Libraries each Friday, starting June 8th to July 28th. These food sacks contain 2 breakfast meals, 2 lunch meals, 2 dinner meals, juice, fruit, and powdered milk to keep them going through the weekend. So, stop by your local Manatee Library and pick up a book and a weekend food sack and feed your body and mind this summer! Click here for hours and location information.

The Food Bank of Manatee will be following the Manatee County School Distric’s Kids Eat Free” bus on Fridays from Bradenton Village, to Southeast High School, and finish at Lincoln Park in Palmetto. District schools that are holding summer school will also have weekend food sacks available.
The Food Bank has also partnered with The Bradenton Housing Authority – 5631 11th Street East, Bradenton, The 13th Avenue Dream Community Center – 922 24th Street East, Bradenton, and Just For Girls – 1011 21st Street East, Bradenton.
